Moscow Responds to US Peace Plan
The United States has unveiled a comprehensive 20-point peace plan, presented by Ukraine’s president, aimed at ending hostilities in the region. The proposal includes several core pillars: Sovereignty and Security: Affirmation of Ukraine’s sovereignty and non-aggression commitments through a legally binding agreement, monitored and guaranteed by a
n international peace council. Security Guarantees: Strong assurances from the US and Europe, alongside NATO-style guarantees to prevent future aggression. Combat Lines and Demilitarised Zones: Recognition of current contact lines in eastern Ukraine, with proposals for demilitarised zones and a free economic zone in parts of Donetsk under Kyiv’s control. EU Accession and Elections: Support for Ukraine’s integration into the European Union, post-deal elections, and maintaining an army of up to 800,000 personnel. Educational Initiatives: Introduction of programmes in schools and communities to promote understanding, tolerance, and the elimination of prejudice between both nations. Ukrainian Forces Reportedly Strike Strategic Russian Military Production Facilities in Tula Region and Russian-Occupied Crimea Targeting Explosive Component Plants and Drone Storage Sites to Disrupt Moscow’s Military Operations Ukraine’s military has reportedly targeted the Yefremov synthetic rubber plant in Russia’s Tula region and a storage facility for marine drones in Russian-occupied Crimea overnight. According to Ukrainian authorities, the Yefremov plant produces components for plastic explosives and solid rocket fuel . Explosions and a large-scale fire were reported at the site following the strike. Russia Confirms Recruitment of Hundreds of Thousands of Contract Soldiers and Volunteers Amid Ongoing Conflict, Expanding Its Armed Forces While Addressing Manpower Requirements for the Ongoing Military Operations in Ukraine Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, announced that at least 417,000 Russians have signed contracts with the Ministry of Defence this year. In addition, over 36,000 volunteers have joined formations deployed to the special military operation zone. Medvedev made the announcement during a Security Council meeting on the recruitment of contract servicemen for the Russian Armed Forces. Ukraine Orders Large-Scale Mandatory Evacuations of Children and Vulnerable Citizens From Donetsk and Zaporizhia Regions as Security Situation Deteriorates, Providing Transit Centres, Medical Support, and Documentation Assistance to Relocated Residents Due to the deteriorating security situation, Ukraine has ordered the mandatory evacuation of children and their parents from 19 settlements in the Donetsk region. The decision was made during a meeting of the Coordination Headquarters for Evacuation , chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Oleksii Kuleba. Authorities are also relocating around 200 residents with limited mobility from care facilities in Zaporizhia to the Chernivtsi region in western Ukraine. Specialised emergency teams equipped with armoured vehicles and medical supplies are overseeing the evacuations. Ukraine currently operates 17 transit centres , providing evacuees with documentation assistance, social services, and financial support.
